1. What is composting? 

          Composting is the process of breaking down organic waste into nutrient-rich soil through natural decomposition.

2. How big is Dostbin?

          The capacity of the bin is 1.5 ft width x 2 ft breadth x 2.5 ft height.

3. Where can it be kept in my house?

          It can be kept in the kitchen, balcony, or any ventilated area with easy access to dispose of daily wet waste.

4. What all can be disposed in Dostbin?

          Food scraps, fruits, vegetable peels, leftover food.

5. What all it produces/outputs?

          It produces compost and liquid fertilizer (leachate).

6. How much compost will be produced from the device?

           If we take 10 kg as an example, we will get 20% of the 10 kg, i.e. 2kg will be produced.

7. How much liquid fertilizer will be produced from the device?

          If we take 10kg as an example, we would get 2 – 3 litres of leachate (liquid fertilizer).

8. I don’t want to use liquid fertilizer (leachate), what can be done?

          If u dont want to use the fertilizer to your plants, you can connect to your drainage pipe.

9. What is the main difference between 3 variants?

          Dostbin Basic – Requires manual mixing and maintenance, Mixing / Aeration Handles will be provided.Dostbin Popular – Manual Shredder and, Mixing / Aeration Handle will be provided.Dostbin Automatic – Fully Automatic (sensor based), Motorized Shredder and Mixer.

10. Any expert required for installation?

          No expert is required for installation. DOSTBIN is designed for easy setup and comes with a comprehensive user manual. 

11. What arrangement is required at the place of installation?

          Dostbin Basic: Needs to be placed in a well-ventilated area, such as a kitchen, utility area, balcony, or backyard. Requires easy access for daily disposal of wet waste. No electrical supply needed. Ensure there’s enough space to comfortably operate the mixing/aeration handles. Drainage outlet Dostbin Popular: Should be placed in a well-ventilated area like a kitchen, balcony, or backyard. Requires easy access for daily disposal of wet waste. No electrical supply needed. Ensure there’s enough space to comfortably operate the manual shredder and mixing/aeration handles. 14. I don’t have Dostbin automatic, then what is the use of mobile application for me?

          Even without the Automatic variant, the mobile application provides valuable functions such as: Notifications for manual mixing/aeration schedules. Tips and guidelines for optimal composting. Customer support and troubleshooting. Easy ordering of refill packs. Tracking of compost production and progress.

15. How often refills are required?

          Refills are generally required every 2-3 months, depending on the amount of waste you generate.

17. What if I am going for vacation? What do I do with the produced compost?

          The produced compost can be used in your home garden, potted plants, or lawn to enrich the soil. If you do not wish to use it personally, you can avail of our compost buy-back option, where we collect the compost and supply it to local farmers, contributing to sustainable agriculture.
