What can I put in a DOSTBin?
Peels, kitchen scraps, cooked food, coffee grounds and garden trimmings. Plastic, metal, glass and hard bone should stay out.
How much waste can it take?
Popular and Premium take up to 5 kg a day, and Mini up to 2 kg a day. Electric Twin sets handle up to 300 kg a month, enough for about 25 houses.
How long until I get compost?
About every 10 days. Roughly 30% of the biodegradable waste you put in comes back as compost, plus a concentrated liquid fertiliser that you dilute 1:15.
Does it smell?
No. The two chambers are sealed and the bed is kept aerobic, so it smells earthy rather than sour. The Compost Booster adds extra odour control.
How much electricity does it use?
Manual models need none. Mini and Premium use under 5 units a month, the Electric Twin under 10, and Telemetry runs on battery or solar.
Where can I sell my compost?
The DOSTBin app, on the Play Store, connects you with local farmers and organic gardeners and lets you order accessories.
How long does it last?
10 years or more, with an LLDPE roto-moulded body, SS304 internals and replaceable parts.
